Creative mother and daughter team, Dawn and Jacquelyn Smyth, were inspired by the beaches of Australia and the seasons of Canada and the Matilda Hat Company was born. They decided to produce hats using innovative fabrics that are on trend with current fashion. They want you to look good and feel great when wearing a Matilda hat. Matilda pledges to make a quality, wearable and affordable hat.   

Dawn and Jacquelyn appreciate how hats can protect you from the sun’s rays. Both mother and daughter live with lupus, a chronic auto immune disease that makes them more sensitive to the sun. So although hats are practical, why not also make them beautiful and fun to wear.
